Day one

After a very long travel day, we have arrived in Paris. Our flight took us over a patchwork of yellow and green fields.  It took driving past one of the fields on our way to the city to identify what was growing in the yellow fields.  It was mustard in bloom!

Today we didn't venture too far from our hotel.  We visited the Anne-Frank Jardin, which was built from an old courtyard, inside a block, just a little north of the Pompidou Centre.

This chestnut tree was started using a cutting from the chestnut tree that Anne looked at daily and wrote about in her diary.

Chestnut bloom

The jardin is a lovely, quiet spot, and lots of things were blooming.
