Last week, a friend who lives on a farm, with horses, chickens, apple trees, greenhouses, and gardens invited us over. It's the harvest season, and he wanted to share his bounty. While his farm is sunnier and warmer than the coast in the summer, his productivity is definitely enriched by composted horse manure.
