Our first stop was the ruins of the ancient Roman aqueduct and mills. The aqueduct carried two chutes of water: one went to Arles, and the other powered the flour mills on the hill below. We have visited this site several times before.

After leaving the Roman site, we visited a much newer series of windmills (moulins) just south of Fontvielle. We had previously caught glimpses of one of the mills from the road, but today, we parked nearby and walked up to 3 old mills.

Lots of families were out walking the moulin trail. Some were having picnics. The weather wasn't grand, but we had a great day anyway.
