So, today's photos will feature yesterday's lunch in Le Sambuc. It was four courses. Each course was tasty and somehow we didn't feel like we would explode after eating all of it.
The first course was tellines. These are really tiny bivalves, like clams. They are served with the shells as you see them and take quite a while to eat -- which can only be done using the fingers. There is nothing dainty about eating tellines.
For the second course, we were served a salad topped with a bread stick. The roasted tomatoes were super sweet.
The main course was solettes, little soles, served with a mélange of French vegetables and rice.
A very happy diner |
Dessert was the last course. I opted for crème glacee (ice cream), in pistachio and vanilla.
Everything was very fresh. Eating is very serious business here in France.
