Sea turtles
Here in Bonaire, we frequently encounter turtles on the reef. Most commonly, we see the hawksbill turtle. Its mouth actually resembles a hawk's bill. This turtle has serrated edges along the rear edges of its shell. Today we saw two, a big one resting, with its head stuck under a ledge, and a small one swimming by.
Yesterday, a green turtle swam past us. They are more refined looking than the hawksbill. Their head is quite different, and the shell is not serrated. The bottom photo is the green turtle, the top three photos are hawksbill turtles.
