Cycling the Camargue

This morning, we drove down to Stes. Maries de la Mer, and rented bikes to cycle out to the lighthouse along the dike path.  It was sunny and warm, but windy.

A map of our ride.  The "vous etes ici" green arrow is where we turned around.

We saw quite a few flamingoes along the way, and some were fighting with each other.  We saw this twice, when 2 pairs got too close.  We also watched several flamingoes tread the mud with  their feet while grazing with their heads underwater.

It was definitely a nice day to be out cycling along the edge of the Mediterranean.  Starting early beats the crowds.
