Shutters of the neighborhood

In our neighborhood, nearly all the homes have wooden shutters.  They are massive, sometimes quite old, and are often opened and closed (sometimes several times) daily, to take advantage of solar gain and fresh air.  They can also often represent colorful contrasts, and are frequently painted pastel hues.  Some shutters are desperately in need of paint, others have fresh coats.  Some have hardware that looks nearly as old as the buildings.

We have lived in houses here where we had to regularly open and close the shutters (especially during strong winds, and for privacy), but haven't needed to in this house.  The people across the street have south-facing shutters, and they frequently adjust the position of their shutters.

Enjoy the shutter diversity of La Roquette.

These are our shutters
