To the Mediterranean, because it's so close.
Before we left, I couldn't help taking a photo of the second-floor cat on the corner. It spends lots of time sitting in the window. I think it was a little insulted to have to share the window sill with a wet mop today.
After a short drive, we arrived at la mer. It was quite breezy, and although I did stick my hand in it, I wasn't tempted to go in.
The wind was so strong that it caught this woman's tote bag and blew it down the beach, towards the estuary. She and her two toddlers did all they could to catch up with it, but it was ultimately saved by a lean gentleman in a speedo who ran much faster than she did. I shall award him the speedo-super-hero-of-the-day award. As she walks back to their gear she is carrying the tote bag.
Our excursion to the coast was the longest drive that we have taken so far, and it became clear that the hybrid Toyota Corolla bucket seats were not comfortable or fully adjustable to fit Bori. So, we turned it in and exchanged it for slightly different model Toyota that is roomier and the seat is more adjustable. Over the years we have traded in lots of rental cars in Arles for various reasons, including Bori's feet being too big and hitting the gas and the brake at the same time. The rental car company finds this very entertaining, and has always been very accommodating.
