Market days are huge in Arles. The main road through the center of town is blocked off from early morning through about 3 PM. The vendors arrive, set up, sell their goods, then pack up everything and leave after one. Cleanup following their departure continues until 3. Different sections of the market feature different products. At one end, vendors sell clothing, and housewares (including mattresses). In the middle of the market the fish mongers set up. The southeast end of the market sells food. There are many booths scattered on both sides of the road and into the sidewalks as well. It's an efficient system that these vendors have been using for a long time.
