This afternoon, I walked to a nearby Van Gogh site: Espace Van Gogh. It is famous for 2 reasons: he painted its garden, and in 1888 it housed the hospital where Van Gogh had his ear stitched after cutting it off.
The building is the Hotel Dieu, an ancient structure on which construction began in 1573.
The garden that Van Gogh painted is a popular site with tourists and school trips. It has been maintained to resemble the garden as it was in 1888.
