Arles is having a second Festival du Dessin (Drawing Festival) this spring. Today we visited the Chapelle du Museon Arlaten to see the homage to Tomi Ungerer, a French artist, who was born in 1931 but who spent much of his life as a commercial artist in New York. Some of his work is quite whimsical. I especially liked the pieces where he incorporated objects (like leaves) or photos of objects into his work.
