This morning, we took the toll road and zipped over to Sete to rent bikes to ride along a paved, beach, bike trail to Marseillan-Plage. The bike trail was very nice, and we encountered quite a few riders. The trail was never more than 100 yards from the sea, and was bounded by tiny well-managed dunes on the ocean side, and occasionally vineyards on the other side.

The town we rode to seemed like a sleepy middle-class vacation destination, not really bustling quite yet, but soon! Great destination for a coffee break.

In contrast, we began our ride on the southwestern edge of Sete, a busy commercial port, with lots of canals. After we finished our ride, we drove around the water's edge to the center of the city, and stopped for lunch.
