Animals in the carvings of St. Trophime

Eglise St.-Trophime is an old church in Arles that was built beginning in about 1100 AD.  The carved doorway was added in about 1190.  It is an example of the late Provencal Romanesque style.

Today, while I was looking at the front of the church, I noticed lots of animal images in the carvings around the front door.  So I am sharing photos of some of the many animals at St. Trophime in today's post.
