Peeking inside sponges

One good place to find interesting marine life is inside sponges.  My favorite sponges to peek inside are the vase sponges.  They are shaped like large vases.  Most of the vase sponges that I've seen here are azure vase sponges. They vary from pink to purple and light blue.

All of these photos were taken at a depth of about 50 feet.

This sponge is a perch for a 6 inch graysby.

This sponge is a cleaning station for a peppermint shrimp and a cleaning goby.

This sponge is home to a red reef hermit crab --its red legs can be seen sticking out of its shell-house.
