More cool fish
This morning, we encountered a visually striking group of small jackknife fish (lower photo). The largest was only about 5 inches long. They look a lot like a related species, the spotted drum, that was featured in an earlier post, but jackknife fish don't have any spots.
A little later in our dive, I encountered a balloonfish that was about 10 inches long (top photo). Also known as the spiny puffer, the balloonfish is in the same family as the web burrfish, which was featured earlier, and can inflate when disturbed.
