Along with its lovely setting, bordered by the Camargue and the Mediterranean, this little town has a charm of its own. Bulls are very important here, and several sculptures in town feature them. This sculpture graces the center of one of the town's traffic circles.
Van Gogh traveled from Arles to Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer to paint. And this year, the town has displayed copies of paintings that he made here, near the sites where he painted them.
